Hotel prices in Buenos Aires and when to book cheaper
Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the city of tango, with European flair and South American spirit. Accommodation prices depend heavily on the time of year here, and it is worth remembering that in the southern hemisphere the seasons are reversed. This list shows 5 644 properties: from hostel beds to apartments in Palermo and five-star hotels. Below we have gathered concrete figures to help you plan a budget and pick a good time to come.
When to book at the lowest price
Buenos Aires is cheapest in June, and also in May and July, that is during the local winter. It is most expensive in November, at the height of spring, when rates rise by about a third. Within the week the lowest prices fall on Sunday and Tuesday, the highest on Saturday. Booking about two months before arrival usually gives the best prices, since close to the date cheap availability disappears fast.

Which hotel suits whom
- Families. Apartments offer the most space, and there are plenty of them in Palermo, near parks and green areas. Handy for sightseeing with children.
- Couples. Atmospheric boutique hotels sit in Recoleta and San Telmo, near the historic architecture, antique shops and evening tango shows.
- With breakfast. Properties with a good breakfast included cluster in the centre, around the Obelisk and Avenida de Mayo, often in the mid price range.
- Near the airport. Around the international Ezeiza and the domestic Aeroparque there are hotels with airport transfers, handy for an early flight or a layover.
- Sightseeing without a car. The fastest way around the city is the Subte metro. It links the key districts, from Plaza de Mayo to Palermo, and lets you skip the traffic.

When Buenos Aires gets more expensive
Buenos Aires lies in the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are reversed compared with Europe. The most pleasant time to explore is spring, from September to November, and autumn, from March to May, when it is mild. Summer, from December to February, can be hot, with temperatures above thirty degrees. Winter in the middle of the year brings the lowest accommodation prices. Rates are also pushed up by big concerts and events at the city stadiums.
